Electrotherapy
Electrotherapy (or complementary therapy) refers to the use of electricity in the treatment plan of certain musculoskeletal conditions. The therapeutic effect comes from the electric energy’s capacity to influence physiological events. A variation in the current’s form or intensity will have a different effect, but they always work towards either diminishing pain or inflammation, either stimulating the tissues’ healing. These types of treatment are painless, safe and effective. They are often an interesting alternative to taking medication, when the pain is hard to control. At the St-Lambert Chiropractic Clinic, we use three different devices, to give us more options and to customize the treatment depending on your condition:
- ultrasound
- interferential current
- laser
